Matthew Hardy, Vicente Chavarria and Chris McMullen-Laird conductors

Brahms Variations on a Theme by Haydn op 56
Brahms Hungarian Dances nos 1, 3 and 10
Three talented RCM conductors take to the podium for the first Orchestral Masterworks concert of the new year.
Inspired by folk and gypsy cultures, Brahms’ Hungarian Dances are a tour-de-force of frenetic energy and lively, fast-paced melodies, in contrast to his serene and heartfelt theme and variations. Before this, RCM Concerto Competition winner Rosanna Rolton is the soloist for Rodrigo's evocative Sones en la Giralda, which was originally written for RCM harp professor Marisa Robles.
Tickets £5, £8
